Faculty of Computer Science

The Faculty of Computer Scince at Khurasan Univeristy has two Departments.

  • Department of IT and Networks
  • Department of Software Engineering

All of these departments are headed by experienced and dedicated chairpersons who are eminent in their fields. They develop and maintain a curriculum which is updated regularly, based on the continual changes in the dynamic business world. The departments continuously assist the administration in their efforts to develop their current faculty, and to expand to create diverse and competent faculty pools, which make Khurasan one of the most reputable institutions in Afghanistan today.

Department of IT and Networks

Program Objectives

The Bachelor of Computer Science (IT and Networks) combines a solid core of computer science courses as well as an understanding and appreciation for arts and Sciences, and their importance in today's society. This is a 4 year degree program which aims to enable students to apply scientific and engineering methodologies to the analysis of problems and the design, implementation and evaluation of computer-based solutions. At the same instance it attempts to utilize the breadth and depth of theoretical computer science and mathematics to emerging technologies and the ever changing needs of industry as well as the cutting edge of computer science research.

Eligibility Criteria

Students with Grade 12 or equivalent are eligible to apply.Qualifying the admission test and interview is compulsory.

Degree Requirements

For a BCS 4 year degree, a student is required to complete a minimum of 136 credit hours including research thesis/project.


The normal duration of the BCS program is 8 semester (4 Years).
